Among other things, a drill and a saw. I tested my machine, and I presented the result in a slide show at the artist run platform SOC.While the presentation was underway, I put chemical metal into the lock, and the audience was locked inside. The audience to escaped the gallery space with the tools from the artwork.
Among other things, speakers, a door viewer, a mattress.I made ten smaller builds. Among other things, I confessed all my crimes outside the police station and gave myself as a gift to the Norwegian royal family. The results was presented at the symposium Glitch, curated by Per Platou.I´ve added some of the sound files (in Swedish) bellow.

I was hired as an artist for five years to develop the Gullspång Model — a model that uses art and culture to influence demographic change in rural municipalities. In 2022, David Karlsson and I published a book (in Swedish) about the work in Nätverkstan’s series on the economics and politics of culture. The book is sold where books are and available as audio book.

Extract (in Swedish)...Extract of foreword by David Karlsson:For five years, a sort of cultural-political experiment unfolded in the small municipality of Gullspång, on the border between Västergötland and Värmland in mid-Sweden.The protagonist and engine of this drama was the artist Staffan Hjalmarsson. Soon, a surge of energy took hold, becoming known throughout the Swedish cultural policy landscape as the "Gullspång Model."More than 300 people participated in, developed, and criticized the Gullspång Model in various ways.Staffan has since interviewed some of them, but above all, he has sat down with David Karlsson to recount what actually happened. What kind of book is this, then? An evaluation of what happens when the proud objectives of cultural policy are actually taken seriously? A tale of cultural-political "berserkergang"? A picaresque about an artist who decides to become a municipal official? A confessional? A portrait of rural life? A cautionary tale for anyone who comes into contact with cultural policy? It is likely a little bit of all these things.
Co-founder and operational manager of Ungt Mode ("Young Fashion"), a school that focuses on providing young people with knowledge about clothes and fashion. Here, 150+ students learned about design, sewing, and sustainability according to a popularized version (Sustainability. Here! Now!) of the international agreement ISO 26000 within the fashion industry.Co-built by Nora/Aya Hassnawi, Halema Dahie, and Hans Andrén in 2013.Mode 3, branched within Ungt Mode, aimed at developing creativity and collaboration among participants as a formal vocational school ("KomVux") in Sweden. 50+ students worked on real assignments, creating collections and presenting them to others. Both programs helped young people and adults understand the fashion world and provide them with tools to work in the industry.

I was the operational manager, co-founder and responsible for start-up funding (municipal, regional, national and European, as well as from the Internet Foundation).Folk Lab was built together with the non-profits Made by Aya (co-founded by me), Kids Hack Day and Fisksätra Folkets hus / Community center. Today (spring 2026), there are five Folk Labs in Sweden. Reach out if you want to start one!"Folk Lab is a place where people can work together. Using technology to solve various social problems. Here, courses and events are held to educate and inspire participants. The goal is to create positive changes through collaboration.

I buy cigarettes that, among other things, carry the warning label “smoking increases the risk of blindness.”Since I am a smoker, I cannot read the warning label and will live for ever.I sell the cigarettes in an edition of 42, and because they are art builds, I am able to deduct VAT through my own company.

I have recreated the website from Lasse Ekstrand’s book “Every Man Is an Artist”) about the artist Joseph Beuys. Link...The website (varjemanniskaenkonstnar.nu, /"everymanisanartist.nu") was originally launched in 1999 but was taken down more than ten years ago. The relaunched site is an interactive digital whiteboard where you can be your self or step into the shoes of Joseph Beuys.
